Selichot Cover

Selichot - Shabbaton Choir (1994)

With Chazanim Stephen Robins & Lionel Rosenfeld

Selichot (from the Hebrew Selicha meaning forgiveness) are prayers recited in the period leading up to the Jewish New Year and Day of Atonement, a time of repentance and spiritual renewal for the Jewish people. For many, it is traditional to begin Selichot with a choral midnight service in which some of the most beautiful and varied music in the Jewish liturgy can be found. The Shabbaton Choir's unique Choral Selichot service for two chazanim has been performed at a number of major synagogue locations and has become a widely-acclaimed annual event.
