Bilvavi [4:52]
Lionel Rosenfeld, Shimon Craimer & The Shabbaton Choir - “In my heart a sanctuary I'll build To His glory's splendour, And in it an altar I shall place To the rays of His grandeur. And for an Eternal Flame I shall take The fire meant for Isaac of old, And the sacrifice offering that I shall make Is my one and only soul”. The words date back to the 17th century and are incredibly moving. The music was written in memory of Yoni Jesner a young Glasgow student on his gap year in Israel, murdered by a suicide bomber on bus No 4 in Tel Aviv in 2003. Yoni was due to return to London to study medicine.
